Asha Rani Rawat is elected two years back as Surpanch of Silone Panchayat which belongs to Rajnagar Block of Chhatrapur District. The Silone Panchayat have of 185 families and out of it around 150 families come under the category of SC/STs.
She is 32 years old and basically from Sirmour of Rewa District, M.P and belongs to Scheduled tribe caste and got married 13 years back. Asha Rani is not much literate she has just completed her primary studies. For last 8 years she is staying under the premises of Silone panchyat as her husband is working as teacher in Silone school. She is having two children of 12 and 10 years old. As they are staying permanently they included their name on voters list in Silone panchatat. Thus in reservation quota she is elected as surpanch two years back.
Though she has elected as Surpanch all the official woks is doing by her husband Mahesh. During our first visits she was hesitant to come out of home and to meet us. Gradually she started to meet us and started to ask about the project progress. With constant motivation of project staff now she is convinced about her designation and duties to some extent. She was asked to all household to make their job card and to join for the work under MGNREGA. She was also done wall painting in different places to disseminate information regarding he same. The right example for the change of her attitude is shown in photo given aside.
Panchayat. Now, looking forward with HARIT PRAYAS to make her Panchayat an ideal one.......
