HARIT PRAYAS@Jhansi....securing the sustainable livelihood of the community..

During the project orientation meeting JCSS staffs discuss the clearly defined aims and objective of project Harit Prayas with the target village community members.

Apart from this JCSS team also discuss the list of activities which will be accomplished under this project. One of them is promotion of vermin compost. For this there is provision of vermin compost training to the farmers, followed by demo. The project orientation meeting was going on in the village named Rasina. There was an old farmer, aged around 75 yrs, present in the meeting. He asked the Harit Prayas team to give him the training of ‘vermin compost’ as soon as possible. He was so influenced with the meeting that he said he himself will invest money for the vermin compost, since use of vermin compost will increase his earning from agriculture and use of vermin compost is also good for land. Chemical fertilizers will make his land barren one day. These were his words. Now he is eagerly waiting for the training programme on this.

This is the kind of impact Harit Prayas has started making in the project area. People are not only coming forward to cooperate with the team members but also some of them are ready to invest their own money/ resources to increase their livelihood.
