Promoting organic cultivation

Farmers like Hardeen with renewed confidence are going back to their traditional systems of farming ensuring food and nutrition security for the households”
From the beginning of HARIT PRAYAS project in Majhota village, Hardeen has shown interest towards adopting the organic cultivation for better and sustainable agriculture production. To learn more on organic cultivation first he has became the part of Majhota Farmers club and through few trainings he has intiated the organic farming on ginger cultivation. From the HARIT PRAYAS programme he has learnt about preparation of organic supplement amritpani and has used the same in his ginger crop. To see the change of organic and synthetic based fertilizer; he has divided his one bigha of plot in to two parts in one part he has used 100% organic, where as on other part he has used mix of organic and synthetic components and with the result of growth and production he has find that the production of organic is double than the synthetic one and this has motivated him to go for all his cropping in organic way. Now near by his field he has established a small system for the production of amritpani and he is using the same in other crops also.
By seeing the result at Hardeen’s farm, the rest of the villagers from majhota get motivated and at present out of 113 HHs village 50 farmers are involved in organic cultivation .
Harden with HARIT PRAYAS has become the organi hero of the village and has only aim to change his village as organi cultivablke village. In his words-mein aisi jaivik kheti karunga ki logo mein javik ki aise bhookh paida kardunga ki log khud b khud javik karnne lagenge ( with the cultivation of organic crop and production, I would creat hungerness in rest of the farmers for organic cultivation and they would start doing by themselves)……
Now harden is thinking for organic certification of his field and with HARIT PRAYAS he is moving for it…..
