Training on Group Management for Self Help Groups was conducted on 18/05/2012 at Ghisoli village and 19.05.2012 in Khadi village of the project area. A total number of 38 female SHG members took part in the training at Ghisoli village and 30 female SHG members in Khadi village. Thus a total number of 68 SHG members out of 80 were covered in these two micro level trainings conducted in the project villages. The training started with a prayer and warm welcome to the participants. In continuation to it a quick introduction was done to make the training environment ease and friendly. The Field Coordinator Mr.Kailash gave an introduction to the topic "Group Management and asked the expectation of the participants from this training. Some of the members informed about their curiosity to understand the grading system and few others wanted to know about the tips to run the Self Help Groups smoothly. The purpose of the training was to educate the SHGs on group management techniques through developing leadership qualities and conflict resolving mechanism to enable them to do effective planning to run their group smoothly. During the training Mr.Kailash mentioned that regular monthly meeting, keeping transparency and trust among the members, and growing the group in good understanding is the base of group management. He also mentioned that planning with a long term vision, maintaining good reputation with the Bank etc. helps the group to grow as strong community based organization in the village. At the end of the training there was a feedback session to recall the learning of the day. The training winded up with a vote of thanks by the Cluster Animator.
