It
is a success story of the poor and the marginalized farmer named Mr. Tej Ram
Aiharwal in the village of Mothigad Gram Panchayat. In the beginning of the
project, he did not cooperate with HARIT PRAYAS Team. By the continuous request
of our team, he began to attend in the meetings which are arranged for
farmers. Gradually, he became an active
member in the group and he recently elected as president of the Kissan Club of
Mothigad. One day, he participated in the training programme on govt. scheme
especially about Kapil Dhara Koop Nirman programme.
After the training he applied for the scheme and he got approval and started
the work- digging well for improving the irrigation- without any delay. Unfortunately,
the work was stopped due to malpractice of the govt. officers and other high
caste people. He discussed his issues in
the Kissan Club meetings and our team conveyrd him the power of RTI. In that
spot, he wrote an application under RTI and it was submitted to Panchayat
Secretary. Secretary visited the area and ordered to restart the work in
April. 90 % of the work of well is
completed in the reporting period. Now he became a real hero in his village.
